The first thing I ask someone when they tell me their car isn't running right is, "when is the last time you did a tune up?" The majority of the time the answer is always the same, I DON'T KNOW! WTF?, why would you spend all your money on performance parts and not do a tune up? Some knucklehead blew his motor on his eclipse and couldn't figure out why. I pulled the fuel filter, turned it over and mud came out. The clogged filter restricted the fuel flow and in turn detonated the shit outa his motor. So, the moral of the story is this kids, KEEP UP ON YOUR REGULAR MAINTENANCE!
When spending your hard earned cashola on performance parts, be careful who you buy from. Too many people out there trying to make a quick buck by selling over priced junk. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Everyone tries to save a couple bucks here and there. But I have learned the hard way that going cheap usually winds up costing more money in the long run. I'm not saying go buy the expensive name brands, just do a little research on the parts your looking for before forking over the loot.
Be carefull when choosing the right parts for your car. There are alot of internet know-it-alls that will feed you some bullshit they heard from some other knucklehead, It pays to do some research. You don't want to make any costly mistakes because of what someone who doesn't know their ass from a hole in the ground told you. There are alot of informative forums on the internet, but don't always take what the forum "guru" says as the gospel. Do your research and ask alot of questions.
One important thing to remember when modding your car, IT"S YOUR CAR! Don't let anyone tell you what you should and should not do to your ride. There's no "rules" set in stone on what you can and can't do. I hear way too many people trying to force their opinions on everyone else. If you want a loud BOV just for the sound, go for it. You want neon lights, hell yeah do it. It's your money and your car, do what makes you happy and fuck what anyone else thinks. Be an innovator, not an immitator.
Don't be afraid to work on your own car. Alot of the general maintenance and bolt ons are very simple. Just take your time. You will feel good about doing the work yourself and saving some money. And if you break something? Shit happens. Fix it, learn from your mistakes and move on. Make sure you have a decent set of tools also. A hammer and vice grips can't fix everything.
If your gonna email us and ask for discounts and free parts, at least give us a reason why. We probably won't give you shit but we like to hear some good bullshit stories now and then. Well, I can't say won't. Maybe you will catch us in a good mood one day, maybe. Maybe not.
